Tom Cruise Pissed at Oppenheimer opener

Tom Cruise is reportedly unhappy with the decision by IMAX to give the majority of their North American screens to Christopher Nolan's upcoming film, "Oppenheimer". Cruise, who is known for his love of large-format film making and has been a strong supporter of the IMAX format, is said to be frustrated that his latest film, "Top Gun: Maverick", will have fewer screens to showcase the film's stunning aerial footage.

According to sources, Cruise has been a vocal advocate for the IMAX format and has worked closely with the company on several of his previous projects, including "Mission: Impossible - Fallout" and "Edge of Tomorrow". He has been known to push for more IMAX screens for his films, arguing that the format provides a more immersive and thrilling experience for audiences.

However, with IMAX's recent decision to give the majority of their North American screens to "Oppenheimer", it appears that Cruise's latest project, "Top Gun: Maverick", will have to settle for fewer screens than he would like. This has reportedly led to tension between Cruise and IMAX executives, with the actor expressing his frustration at what he sees as a missed opportunity to showcase his film in the best possible way.

Despite the reported tension, it's worth noting that Cruise has not publicly commented on the situation and has been focused on promoting "Top Gun: Maverick" ahead of its release later this year. The film, which is a sequel to the 1986 classic "Top Gun", sees Cruise reprise his role as Pete "Maverick" Mitchell as he trains a new generation of fighter pilots.

While it remains to be seen how the situation between Cruise and IMAX will play out, it's clear that the actor holds the format in high regard and believes in its ability to deliver a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience. Whether or not he will continue to push for more IMAX screens for his films in the future is anyone's guess, but one thing is for sure - Tom Cruise is a filmmaker who is passionate about the art of cinema and will always fight for what he believes is best for his projects.
